The Eavesdropper plot

"What you hear can kill you."

During a robbery, Liza Raines loses her hearing due to gunshots going off next to her head. She ends up as a test subject in a clinic, where tests are done on people to regain their hearing. The project is funded by the US Department of Defense. Of the 15 subjects, 14 are found dead within a few days. The only survivor is patient 14: Liza Raines. Not only has she regained her hearing, she can now 'hear' the thoughts of others. Liza is immediately recruited by the CIA. She is used as an agent in some covert operations. In the meantime, the CIA is striving to educate more people with a gift like hers. Then Liza finds out that she too is replaceable and will have to face those who made her the way she is, but at the same time deny that she exists.
