Hotaru no Hoshi plot

"Wouldn't it be beautiful to see fireflies dancing here?"

After graduating as a teacher, Miwa ends up at a small school. Due to his fresh way of teaching, Miwa quickly became popular with the children. One girl in the class catches his eye: the reclusive Hikari. He just can't get her to join the class. Until one day Miwa dreams aloud about breeding fireflies because they are threatened with extinction.
