Nice mystery.

A strong performance by a great cast. A delightfully absurd story with quite a few unexpected elements, the explanations of which bring you practically nothing closer to solving the mystery—and you probably shouldn't dwell too much on details that might not quite add up.

Just not...

I always welcome these kinds of themes with great affection... and I went to see this film with great anticipation. Like many of the descriptions, I expected another wonderful, subdued Lynchian film where you could feel the tension... but in vain.

Unfortunately, this film tries to be a bit too much of an arthouse, making it lean towards another typical run-of-the-mill story... well, with a lemming in the drainpipe and a mysterious woman... the latter, along with other mysterious gadgets, can create some compelling moments, but ultimately, the premise leaves you with nothing. Furthermore, I still don't know what the whole lemming thing added to this film, and the climax is also rushed off.

No, a bit of a boring episode that tries to piggyback on Lynch and desperately wants to add some dark elements... Obviously everything had to be finished quickly instead of really being given attention and love.

2.5*

A fun psychological thriller that's not easily predictable. Everything up to the car accident is well-constructed with bizarre social interactions, and on top of that, it's also exciting thanks to the unpredictable path it takes. The lemming from the title has a more symbolic meaning. Then, the film unexpectedly takes on an occult edge with the manipulative spirit of Alice. That last part might not have been really necessary and seems a bit of a convenient twist, but thankfully it doesn't ruin the film. It reminded me somewhat of elements from What Lies Beneath (2000). I thought all the actors did a great job here, especially Laurent Lucas, who gradually sinks into the nightmare of his couple falling apart. But really, the entire film is skillfully and thoughtfully constructed, like a puzzle. Would have given it a 4* but the twist after the trip to the lake costs it another half star.
