Better and looser than the 2004 version.
It was fun again. The young Dolph Lundgren who plays a very fine role here as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. We fall halfway into the story and things start with The Punisher's quest for revenge where the action is almost non-stop. In the remake the action was often like loose sand and it didn't really feel complete, here the bullets, explosions, throwing knives, arrows fly around your ears. The story is also a bit more exaggerated and is not just about revenge. The human trafficking theme wasn't all that out of place, and the Yakuza's slimy females were almost scary. Our Jeroen Krabbé also manages to play a nice role here as Godfather Franco. Furthermore, the bum also had a nice presence.
Enjoying the old days without being bored.

Nice introduction to Marvel's The Punisher played by Dolph Lundgren. Given the picture over the years, the successor is a bit better. This is mainly due to the acting and the somewhat wooden action scenes of this part. The fight with Jeroen Krabbé is not to be seen, but the concept is quite nice and that's why I thought it was a reasonable film.

Nice film about an ex-cop who has been killing mafia members one by one for years. This early Marvel film adaptation has a lot of action and there is certainly no shortage of violence. Story-wise, it comes across a bit clumsy, but the film knows how to entertain and does not last too long. Dolph Lundgren's dry acting is also funny (including the equally dry one-liners).
