Wonderful old-fashioned Christmas movie that is definitely more than worth watching.
Funny that there are certain scenes in it that really shouldn't be allowed anymore today, but that made me laugh out loud For example, the scene that Steve after visiting Timmy in his room just out of the blue and without ask Connie starts kissing violently, today this would be sexual assault and I think would be cut from a comedy movie.

Robert Mitchum portrays a character that could continue in a film noir, a character with a big mouth and no fear

Recommended!!

3.5* (increase to 4 is still possible)

Quite a relief after the many interchangeable Hallmark productions of today. A romantic film about a love triangle with two men who compete for the heart of the same woman. She in turn is a single mother whose child wants a train as a Christmas present. Not a high-flyer, but compared to recent Hallmark films a real relief. 3*

Not a It's A Wonderful Life caliber perhaps, but certainly not bad, with quite well-written dialogues here and there. It also helps that the film gets a little better in the second half. An attractive Janet Leigh and the always charismatic Mitchum do the rest. Nice alternative for Christmas.
