The Phantom of the Opera plot

The Phantom of the Opera is a masked man who lives in the dark cellars of the Paris Opera House, and behind the scenes watches the events in "his" opera. He falls madly in love with an innocent young singer, Christine, and dedicates all of his time to her to make her a huge star. But when she abandons him for the handsome Philippe de Chagny, the Phantom becomes terribly jealous.
