Omagh plot
Omagh, 15 August 1998. A small group of IRA dissidents, seeking to boycott the peace process in Northern Ireland, bomb the peaceful market town of Omagh, killing 31. The film chronicles the events and aftermath of this tragic day, and focuses in particular on the character of Michael Gallagher who lost his 21-year-old son in the attack. Together with relatives of other victims, he embarks on a long quest for justice, but encounters political unwillingness. His charisma and determination soon make him the spokesperson for an association that wants to discover the truth behind this bloody attack at all costs. However, his difficult and demanding role as a mediator weighs heavily on Michael's private life...
