Der Neunte Tag plot
Priest Henri Kremer (Ulrich Matthes) is working in Dachau during the Second World War and has no hope at all when he suddenly gets a holiday to return to his native Luxembourg for 9 days. It is not a real holiday, because he has to have daily conversations with Gestapo chief Gebhardt (August Diehl). He wants to discuss the role of the church and National Socialism with him. That ultimately presents him with a difficult question, whether to return to Dachau or convince the bishop to fully support National Socialism.
