Certi Bambini plot
Eleven-year-old Rosario lives with his ailing grandmother in a desolate apartment in a suburb of Naples. He spends time with his friends in an obscure pub or in a gambling den. They smoke, drink and steal, as they see the adults around them do. The film tells the incidents from the boys' lives in flashbacks, which Rosario thinks about during long journeys on the metro. Whenever the subway doors close abruptly, the boy takes us back to his recent past and introduces the three most important people in his life: the admired Santino, the dreaded Damiano and the seductive Caterina. It is cruelly shown how easy it is to become entangled in the Neapolitan camorra as a neglected child.
