Blindgänger plot

Marie and Inga are two best friends of thirteen years old. They attend boarding school, where they share a room. They both have a passion for music; Marie plays guitar and Inga plays saxophone. One day the girls find out that a school band from the city is looking to expand. Television has organized a talent show for school bands and the band wants to participate in this. Marie and Inga are rejected at an audition because "blind girls don't look good on TV". Marie meets Herbert, a Russian-German boy with a criminal past who wants to return to Kazakhstan, but has no money to pay for it. She hides him on the deserted top floor of the boarding school and the three decide to collect money. Herbert plays the accordion and a quartet is formed together with a schoolmate of Marie and Inga. The foursome decides to participate in the television talent show as the band "Die Blindgänger".
