Le Soleil Assassiné plot
Poet and radio operator Jean Senac, a French born in Algiers, decides to stay in Algeria after independence in 1963, even though his actions are followed with suspicion by the regime. After all, he travels through the country, recites his poems and makes radio broadcasts about freedom that are especially popular with the youth. One day he meets two young students, Hamid and Belkacem, who are showing their first play at the first Festival National du théatre Algérien. They become bosom friends and witness the struggle he wages for the freedom and culture of the Algerian youth.
