Scotland Yard is pleased to have apprehended and tried the feared check forger Shelton. After receiving the death penalty, everything should be quiet again, but inspector Long (Joachim Fuchsberger) doesn't know what awaits him yet. Because after Shelton's death, one person after another is found dead. All victims have one thing in common, they were present at the arrest and execution of Shelton.
