Based on the book of the same name by HS Ede about the sculptor Henri Gaudier, who died young. Eighteen-year-old Henry Gaudier (Anthony) meets the intelligent, sophisticated Sophie Brzeska (Tutin) in Paris. He begins a platonic but emotionally intense relationship with the 20-year-older woman. She has had a big impact on his art and after moving to London his star has risen in the art world.
