"Terror you won't want to remember—in a film you won’t be able to forget."
A young woman goes to a small California town to see her long-lost father. When she arrives at his house it looks deserted. She meets a group of hippies with whom she investigates the strange things that are happening in the city. It turns out that an old prophecy, about the return of the Messiah from evil, is coming true.

Surprisingly strong zombie film from 1973 that has now ended up in the public domain, which is a shame in a way because the print that is in circulation has become quite faded and will be unwatchable for the general public, a small screen like that can sometimes help.
Not as bloody and visceral as in later Fulci times, but with at least two classic scenes (the supermarket and the cinema) and okay the reunion with the father, red and blue it's a nice color combination
The story is captivating enough and especially the second half of the film is very strong.

A kind of HP Lovecraft for the LSD-using hippie generation. Occult, apocalyptic scenes such as prophecies, bleeding eye sockets, the rise of a kind of antichrist and a negroid albino man who drives around with a pick-up truck full of corpses. Completely insane, where the surreal feeling is increased by third-rate acting, terrible special effects and an inconsistent plot. The crazy set pieces and the creative use of color on the screen are beautiful. With the best will in the world, it cannot be called a good film, but the high B-movie content makes it entertaining

you can argue that this film has atmosphere, and I can't possibly deny that, but atmosphere doesn't mean the film is good, it seems like the film wants to be arthouse but it never really manages to captivate, you have a lot of those Italian horror pulps from the 70s that had the same atmosphere and after seeing a few of them I can wholeheartedly declare that I don't like them at all.
two beautiful actresses playing in it and that was it, those 90 minutes seemed to last a very long time.
