Maestà plot
In 1308, the influential Italian painter Duccio di Buoninsegna began painting the polyptych entitled Maestà for the Cathedral of Siena. The impressive altarpiece was not completed until three years later and would steer Italian painting towards a more accurate representation of reality. Andy Guérif's 'Maestà, La Passion du Christ' is the film version of that painting.
