The Lady and the Highwayman plot
Lord Lucius Vyne (Hugh Grant), who once rescued King Charles II (Michael York) from Oliver Cromwell's troops, secretly fights the king's enemies as the highwayman 'Silverblade'. Lucius' grandniece is the young Lady Panthea Vyne (Lysette Anthony), who is framed to marry the horny Drysdale. Shortly after the wedding ceremony, she is freed from him by none other than Silverblade, who kills Drysdale in a duel. Slowly but surely, Panthea falls in love with the young highwayman.
