Szabadgyalog plot
The Outsider is about Andres, a frustrated young nurse who fails time and again in his attempts to establish human contact. He has just become a father, but does not want to live with the mother. Due to his lack of responsibility, he ends up on the street and has to look for work in a factory. His aimlessness ends with a marriage to another woman, which he doesn't really want: they constantly argue about the money they don't have. Andres only escapes in the booze in the local bars and in an occasional moment of warmth.

I have already seen a few of Tarr's films and he remains a director that is difficult to access. And then I still have to tackle his epic tango. I thought this The Outsider was quite long in terms of running time. That promises...
We follow Andras, a nurse in an institution. At one moment he entertains with his music, at another moment he feeds patients under mild force. However, the board is fed up when he consumes too much alcohol with one of the patients and he is allowed to have it.
It is a reflection of the hopelessness of the Hungarian youth. And they lead to passivity and failure to take personal responsibility. And yet youth is forever the future.
The pace is slow, stylistic images too. But therefore not always accessible. But everything was beautifully designed. A 3.0*.
