"It was a time of heroes...of daredevils, and dames...and Waldo"
Waldo Pepper is a former WW1 war hero. Together with Axel Ollson, he stars as an air acrobat in the Flying Circus. However, the public wants increasingly dangerous stunts and Waldo and Axel seize their chance when they can join the fledgling film industry in Hollywood as stunt flyers. There, Waldo meets the man who was his greatest opponent in the air during the war, the German war hero Ernst Kessler.
