Advocaatje Leef Je Nog? plot

mr. Paul Bovens had been threatened before and had been shuttled up and down to court under police escort. On May 31, 2001, it was serious and a powerful bomb destroyed the stately office building of 'the terrier among criminal lawyers' in Utrecht. Three months later, his name was again in all the newspapers: "Bovens does not want to participate in 'this circus' anymore and withdraws from the legal profession". The bomb had made Bovens think. The fact that the well-known lawyer already put an end to his career at the age of 44 was not only due to the attack. Jeroen Berkvens made a compilation of archive material, interview fragments and intimate recordings of the protagonist in his domestic environment. We see the still unemployed lawyer scratching around in his garden and with his parents during the carnival in Maastricht. In the meantime, he is reflecting on the question of whether he has made the right choices in his work, but also in his private life and how he will fill in the rest of his career.
