Camino plot

"The camera sees what it sees."

1985. War photographer Avery Taggert has built a solid career with her images, while remaining emotionally distanced from her subjects. She ventures into the jungles of Colombia with a group of missionaries, led by a beloved and charismatic Spaniard known as 'El Guero'. There she finds herself in conflict - no less violent than the cases she has documented during her career. One evening she sees El Guero commit a horrific act and captures it all on film. These images could spell the demise of El Guero, and Avery is in grave danger as long as she has it in her hands.

It's just not all that.

The story itself is interesting enough in theory and the images in particular often look very nice. Especially if one mixes current images with so-called photo images, but the problem mainly lies in the acting. Nacho Vigalondo as guerrilla leader Guillermo in particular is sad to watch, or worse, laughable. He almost comes across as a clown and that can't be the intention. But the henchmen of his jungle commando are not doing any better either. Due to poor or exaggerated acting, the film does not seem believable and that is the death knell for this "Camino". If the soundtrack completely misses the mark and has the effect of scratching nails on a blackboard, you really can't get any more excited about this film.

2.5*

Fairly entertaining, but overall very entertaining. This ensures that you can easily watch the film and fill an evening or afternoon with it. The story is well thought out and reasonably depicted. The film is supported by an appropriate soundtrack that adds some tension to some scenes. The unknown main actress Zoë Bell does not play a bad role, but, like other cast members, she does not excel in their roles.

Well, this wasn't the best movie.

It's way too fake, it's played very poorly, there's just a lot wrong with this film

The action scenes were okay, so that's actually why this movie gets 2.5 stars

and certainly not anymore
