When Joey Cheng is suddenly abandoned by her boyfriend, she tries to kill herself in a filthy motel. Fortunately, she survives the suicide attempt and is hospitalized. There the doctors discover that she is pregnant and Joey herself suddenly appears to have a special gift: she can see the ghosts of deceased persons.
