Three prisoners are released after a long time. Mattie has saved 25,000 dollars in forty years and wants to start a store with two friends. The fact that they have such capital at their disposal in the midst of the crisis years is a thorn in the side of Uncle Dog Council, the chief guard of the prison and an example of hypocrisy. He does not let it sit there and wants to eliminate the three.
