A weak film that doesn't demand anything special but is still quite entertaining. The acting wasn't very good.

2.5*

Ugh. Carrie Fisher is doing something autobiographical in a Hollywood navel-gazing setting, and the lead role is played by Streep. Where do I even begin? I already have some difficulty accepting that Princess Leia is played by an actress, and then that she turns out to be a normal, flesh-and-blood human being with the same troubled problems as all of us is just a step too far. And that she's also played by a brooding side chick like Streep is even further, and clearly over the line. Add to that her usual overacting and overwrought antics, I almost feel like I'm watching something by Woody Allen, and that gives me the sudden shivers. Just like Shirley MacLaine, by the way, who also plays the incredibly unpleasant role of Fisher's overbearing mother, who refuses to understand that her daughter has her own life and it's time to let go.

My point was that Gene Hackman is in it. But he only has about two minutes of screen time. Even if you absolutely have to see all his films, I'd say, let that go and skip this one. It's not worth it.
