”"Adopt, what. I don't want to adopt. Not with my genes. I have award winning genes.""

A very nice Allen, who mainly entertains thanks to the original set-up and the nice, sympathetic characters. I also liked the fact that Allen played the leading role himself. It equals a number of sharp dialogues, which fortunately occur more often in the film. Mira Sorvino is a worthy opponent by the way. She plays the role of the silly blonde perfectly and also has some very funny comments from time to time.

In terms of content it doesn't differ much from other Allens, but especially the very light tone is very nice here. In addition, the Greek choir, which appears every so often, is a great addition to the story, which I also found quite original.

The time really flew by. I had a good laugh a few times and I was constantly watching with a smile. Mighty Aphrodite is in my opinion one of Allen's better works.

Good film in which a man tries to find out the identity of the biological mother of his adopted son. A light-hearted Woody Allen film that has a little less to offer compared to many of his other films. But entertaining and also enough funny and even a few hilarious dialogues.

Funny Woody Allen movie, but certainly not as good or profound as his masterpieces (Annie Hall, Manhattan...). The Greek theater scenes in between are used too frequently and have little added value. Mira Sorvino's voice gets on the nerves after a while and she didn't really deserve an Oscar for her role. Helena Bonham Carter also contributes little to the film. Allen himself is hilarious at times as the dastardly neurotic.
