"Let the battle begin…"
The film tells the story of Carlos, who sets out for Almería in Spain, driven by the pictures he has seen of his dead father. He goes in search of his grandfather Julian, who worked as a stuntman in spaghetti westerns. Julian and his colleagues now entertain tourists by recreating old action scenes.

I thought it was the least.
Not too bad, but thought it was all a bit too funny and too long. I'm also not much of a western connoisseur, I thought it was quite an ode to westerns. So it will probably be more fun for the connoisseurs.
Anywho, some nice stuff here and there but not fantastic.
It's also a shame that Iglesia doesn't seem to be progressing quite as I had hoped. His films continue to lack flow. But I will continue to follow him for a while, I still expect something masterly from him one day.
Small 2.5* for this.

A reasonable comic western that is only reserved for the real enthusiasts.
At times I liked the movie every now and then, but otherwise it's not my kind of humor.
Director Álex de la Iglesia had enlisted Clint Eastwood to play himself in this film.
He has even offered to leave for LA to film the scenes with him.
At the time, however, Eastwood was busy producing Mystic River (2003)
Unfortunately, he had to decline the offer.

Haha, that party halfway through the movie is really great and that scene that wouter is talking about especially. Also a nice film, but every now and then the film lacks some focus and it lasts just half an hour too long.
