It is unbelievable that this is the same Kevin Dillon from Platoon and The Doors. There are tons of vampire films out there, and you really have to be good to stand out. Even though the bar is set low for such films, it still needs to be somewhat entertaining for the viewer. The problem is that the lead actor, Kevin Dillon, is incredibly annoying and bad, and the makeup didn't exactly cost much of the budget either. Unfortunately, the beautiful characters can't make up for much, but they are still a balm to the wound.

After City of Lies, I wanted a quick horror movie, and I chose this film that I had picked up at a thrift store a while back, mainly assuming I would get Matt Dillon—and Jody Lynn is always delightful. But unfortunately, I had to deal with his brother, and the rest of the film turned out to be anything but good as well.

And actually, it goes wrong from the very start; Dillon's acting is simply bad, but everything surrounding it is too. The soundtrack is dreadful, the dialogue is too stupid for words and often contradictory to boot, and the overall look is just poor. It is cliché, fake, artificial... and so on. When Vanessa Angel and especially O'Keefe appear on screen, there is at least something nice to see, but they are nothing more than a band-aid.

But then a short but nice phase does arrive when Hank ends up in a sort of soft-porn scene in the abandoned school building that isn't too bad in terms of atmosphere and build-up, combined with a piece of music bearing many characteristics of Massive Attack's Angel. Hank actually finds himself in quite a bit of trouble there, but unfortunately, it collapses again very quickly afterwards with overacting and stupid antics and never recovers. The rest is cliché and can even be called stupid.

And actually, that is a shame, because in itself, this doesn't seem bad at its core, but in combination with a better lead actor and more quality and care for the product, in my opinion, something completely different and better could have emerged.
