Necktie Youth plot
Apartheid has disappeared, for the first post-apartheid generation of young people Nelson Mandela is no more than a beautiful icon, the racial differences play no role in South African 'rainbow society'. Certainly not for the young people growing up in Sandton, a very affluent neighborhood of Johannesburg, one of the richest parts of Africa. It is a place where these young people celebrate their parties, a place where there is never a shortage of drugs and booze. And it is precisely here that 19-year-old Emily hangs herself in her parents' garden - a suicide that everyone can follow via her own live stream on the internet.
