Very gripping story. It is, of course, anything but a feel-good film, but that cannot be otherwise if you look at the facts objectively. I thought it took a long time before Dora left her bastard of a man, but if that really happened... And it's a shame that the film no longer shows that Harold overcomes his drinking problem and they are friends again. That would give a lighter ending to this very heavy film.

Swimming Upstream: tough, but true.

Emotional sports-cum-family drama about top athletes who grow up in a family where psychological and physical violence are the order of the day. Excellent acting across the board with Geoffrey Rush and (of course) Judy Davis as the highlights.
