A frustrated horror story writer has run out of inspiration. In a last desperate attempt, he hypnotizes his assistant and makes him commit some gruesome murders, which he can then put into his book.

Nice 50s creep. Of course you have to make sure that you also see the Hypnovista intro, so that you are in a trance throughout the film and experience all events as if you were there yourself. When broadcasting, this intro is omitted because apparently there are people for whom the Hypnovista works a little too well and then six days later you are still staring at your screen in a trance. Most versions are therefore 13 minutes shorter than the 90 minutes playing time. That is of course a gimmick, but the film was a nice success because of this.
In fact, the film is a variation on a well-known story. Not the one from the wax museum, but see for yourself.

Creative horror film from the 1950s that combines several classic horror stories in a fun way. A colored and relatively short version can now be seen on Netflix.
The film may not be great everywhere, but the first few murders are still quite surprising and also inspiring for later horror films. Towards the end it all gets a little too cheesy but still entertaining enough.
Ideal for viewers who want to see a movie from the old box and enjoy the atmosphere that is so characteristic of the 50s and 60s.
