Sweet November plot
"Sara... She had to be remembered by every man she met. So she divided the calendar into twelve men and gave each a month and a key to her apartment. Charlie's month was November because he belonged to Sara as no one ever would again."
Sara is a free-spirited, headstrong woman who cannot commit to a man and therefore lives with a new partner every month. At the beginning of November, Sara chooses the attractive single Charlie, but when it comes time to kick him out at the end of the month, that seems easier said than done.

I had seen the remake with Reeves years ago, even without knowing that it was a remake at all, so when I discovered that there was also an original I had to look it up.
It has been too long to compare the two properly, I only know that this one is a lot more subdued without any real extreme excesses that would make Sara's character unnecessarily unbelievable.
The film takes a while to get going, but once it does, it is a touching film.
