Very mediocre submarine movie. The story is not interesting and the acting is not that great, with William H. Macy as the low point. The most positive thing about this movie is that the Germans actually speak German.

Very nice and apparently relatively unknown war thriller about two crews, an American and a German, who literally and figuratively end up in the same boat and therefore have to work together if they want to survive. The two groups of enemies together in a small submarine in the middle of the war provides the necessary tension. Very entertaining, towards the 3.5*.

This movie does so many things wrong that I don't really know where to start. The interior of the boats then. Not even remotely believable, they could have filmed the whole thing in St. Peter's. The virus thing. The torpedoes that apparently have had the latest Hollywood update and only hit the bad guys.

As if The Asylum is trying to rip off Das Boot. But still, the few shots of the American surface ship, nice to see a mark 12 5/38 in action, although that blue grenade is of course way over the line of fake. And they hired some decent actors - nothing wrong with Macy, Schweiger or Kretschmann. And they speak their own language.

Too bad it wasn't in a better movie. And especially that ending, thanks to the tobacco lobby.
