To start with, and this is personal: when I see that sour face of Ciarán Hinds, I have already eaten and drank. It was quite a hurdle to start this miniseries, but it worked. About this series: the story was good and interesting except for a few events that were a bit too coincidental. Very good performances, both from the vast majority of liars and the honest daughter. Excellent setting and atmosphere with accompanying old-fashioned dialogues. The ending could have been developed a little more, but the outcome was fine... and then I'm back to Henchard...
