Film about the hardships of an American woman in a Japanese prison camp in North Borneo. In itself a dramatic story, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It is surprising that the years of stay in the camp have left hardly any physical traces on Mrs. Keith and her fellow prisoners, who still look as cheerful upon liberation as they did during internment. Still a bit sloppy.

Good film about the hardships of female prisoners in a Japanese camp in Borneo, a few things that struck me were that no attention was paid to the conditions of the men at all.

and I was also very surprised that the camp was only liberated a month after Japan's capitulation.

How is it possible that a government waits so long to free its citizens and simply leaves them out in the cold for months?

Furthermore, it is a moving story with again some solid acting from Colbert, and this about the Japanese colonel: he may be portrayed sympathetically, but he is far from innocent, that aspect was easily pushed aside.
