"The Victory picture of the year !"
The film is about a group of marines of all kinds. It centers on a tough, idiotic ex-taxi driver with a heart of gold, a brave officer, the unit's chaplain, the group's clown and a raunchy Mexican hero seeking revenge for his butchered platoon. The film follows the recruits from their camp to the first assignment and through the hell of Guadalcanal.
