The Tattered Dress plot
"The story of The Tattered Dress ... that exposed a town's hidden evil !"
James Gordon Blane, a top big city lawyer, heads to the Nevada town of Desert View to defend playboy Michael Reston. Reston is charged with murder. Blane wins the lawsuit, but is then charged with taking bribes. The man behind this accusation is vengeful Sheriff Nick Hoak, who controls all illegal activity in his area. When journalist Billy Giles, who collects information about Blane's lawsuits, is found dead, Blane deduces that Hoak is also behind the murder that Michael Reston was accused of. While Blane is now forced to defend his reputation in court, his wife Diane tries to find evidence against Sheriff Hoak.
