It's not all that bad, though. It does not all come out very well, but there is enough interesting and good in it to constantly hold the attention of the viewer.

Quite another great film by Theo van Gogh. Typically too; heaped with a mockery of the religions.

Everything revolves around a bank that is being merged and Peter (nice role by Wouterse) is the victim of that. The self-righteous arrogant jellyfish Bauke (Roeland Fernhout) doesn't mind; in fact, he wants to outplay Peter and will do anything to catch him making mistakes. This is where the floaty intellectual Eric Sauers comes in handy. In the middle comes the crazy Jos Vlierboom (I thought I couldn't stand Paul de Leeuw), who still has a bone to pick with Peter.

The film largely takes place in one location, but the psychological game ensures that it remains interesting and ultimately determines who is the snake in the grass here. The four reels are pretty well subdivided I must say and the open ending also comes in handy. There is also plenty to laugh about; as if these kinds of films were automatically made on it.

Nice entertaining job. What a pit of destruction that banks / business world. Who is sewing who here?

3.5*
