"A senseless tragedy. An unlikely friendship. A search for answers."
After a shooting at her high school, Deanna is left seriously injured amid nine dead. Detective Van Zandt (Garber) is tasked with finding someone who shares responsibility. His attention is focused on Alicia, a troubled girl who is seen as the key witness. Authorities have Alicia visit Deanna in the hospital, and the two young ladies bond through their shared trauma.
