Le Petit Soldat plot
Bruno Forestier is a war deserter who becomes involved with an anti-terrorist organization and who is tasked with murdering a left-wing university professor. But because of his confusion, his own morals and because of his love for a woman - who is a member of an Arab group - he does not carry out the assignment. He flees and is captured by an Arab group that tortures him, leaving him torn between his idealism and the decision to carry out the murder.
