El Desconocido plot

"Drive or die"

Carlos (Luis Tosar) is a bank manager and, like every morning, takes his children to school. On the way, he receives a phone call in which a stranger tells him that there are bombs under their seats that will go off if they try to get out. Carlos has a few hours to hand over 400,000 euros to the unknown, otherwise his car will be blown up.

Great straight forward thriller. That is mainly due to the always reliable Luis Tosar as protagonist. Exciting from start to finish.

Reasonable thriller. The story is simple but well put together by De la Torre. The momentum is immediately good and the film manages to captivate until the end. The film contains some tense moments. The ending, on the other hand, is less exciting. Tosar plays a good role. Fine thriller. 3.5

Exciting, if somewhat far-fetched thriller about a bank manager (Luis Tosar) who takes his children to school and is told that there are bombs under their seats that will go off if they try to get out. That is of course reminiscent of Speed by Jan de Bont, but this Spanish variant eventually goes in a completely different direction. Not credible and logical everywhere, but the tension is maintained throughout the entire length and the plot is quite nice. There is already a German remake and save yourself for the upcoming American one, with of course Liam Neeson in the lead role.
