Mr. Angel has learned something new!

Film is certainly better than its predecessor. The Djinn is also a bit more fun, effects are slightly better.

But it's still worth crying over. The acting is terrible, the murders no longer make sense, the Djinn has become a bit smarter now, but that doesn't make for really nice cinema either.

It's a shame that the last two parts are so poorly done, the first two guaranteed enough fun and gore to make it a fun series.

1.0*

Striking progress compared to the third part. Now, going backwards with that pitiful piece of film wasn't that difficult, but Wishmaster 4 is better than its predecessor in many ways. More entertaining kills and some dry humor and considerably better acting. The low-budget Ben Affleck lawyer, in whose body the Djinn mainly hides, does a particularly good job. In any case, he has more charisma than Sean Connery's son in the third part. I still miss Andrew Divoff. The quality of the first two films (and especially the first) is also lacking, but with a series of entertaining sequences, The Prophecy Fulfilled in all its mediocrity was not too bad to watch.

2 stars.

Not as disastrous as the previous part, but director Chris Angel still directs a poor sequel to the silver screen. This fourth part is a bit more creative with the murders and the new (human) Wishmaster is a bit more charismatic, but the content is really not about anything anymore. Of course you have to do something after you pull out the same thing for the fourth time, but that whole romance thing hits like a pair of pliers to a pig. How do they actually come up with that? In any case, the main characters (apparently according to the norm) are still very boring and most of them look visually unkempt. This series has not yet succeeded in creating a notable protagonist, this fourth part continues that trend nicely. It's still a shame how things ended with Wishmaster, but I have high hopes for a nice reboot. A director like Steven Kostanski can certainly do great things with it.
