From the director of The Fear: Resurrection, talk about hopeful.

Not that the first two Wishmasters were that great, but fun nonsense with funny gore and nice cameos they were. But what could have been a funny horror franchise is here ruined with an extremely clumsy and remarkably tame horror film. Andrew Divoff has been replaced as The Djinn and the new Djinn isn't exactly high-profile. However, he is only visible for a few shots, otherwise the Djinn can be seen in the capacity of the stiff and charismaless Jason Connery - indeed, Sean's son.

His opponents are AJ Cook and her boyfriend Tobias Mehler, a boy with citrus juicer acting skills and interpreter of one of the most useless movie characters ever. This couple's battle with Connery contains no tension, no gore, no humor and no pace. So what does Wishmaster 3 contain? A lot of endless gibberish, a lot of characters running around aimlessly and a few really clumsy computer effects. Fortunately, the latter still provides some humor, although it is unintentional.

1 star.

Pfff...this is a lot less than the previous parts. Of course Andrew Divoff who plays the Djinn in the first two parts is a loss anyway. But the gore is also disappointing in this film. The biggest downside are the wishes that the Djinn wants to carry out, but they get little attention here. Only the first scene in which the professor's wish is realized by two beautiful women, Angela Jackson and Ruth Dubuisson, manages to attract attention. For the rest a weak story without any tension that is mainly a bit weak and soft. 3/10
