This sixth from the Puppet Master series is very depressingly bad.

The story is not original. It all reminds me of Frankenstein and other similar stories. The idea that an evil or crazy person wants to create his own monster (or in this case a doll) has appeared many times in various forms in the horror genre.

The biggest disappointment is that the puppets barely get into action and the moments when they are on screen are either from the other films or you are almost certain that someone off screen is manually controlling them.

This is just a shame, because the dolls have always been the highlight of the series.

A very disappointing sixth part and that from the director of the strong third part of the series.

Not that good. It's nice to get away from that hotel from the first parts, but those characters and a few idiotic plot elements (making a metal robot out of wood ) are too bad. Toulon's puppets are also rarely shown and are operated very amateurishly. Mediocre.

2*

Seven years after his previous work in this series, director David DeCoteau returns for a new part and thus raises the level somewhat. Specifically the most sympathetic characters manage to make the whole thing more interesting and this is actually the first part in which the cast members do not act noticeably lousy. The puppets, on the other hand, have an even smaller role, but since DeCoteau neglects to introduce new members and/or present creative kills, they are still manageable. However, the rather abysmal visual quality is impossible to ignore, with ugly effects and rushed production elements being the main negatives. I secretly thought the content was quite cute, which makes this sixth part quite entertaining, but from an objective point of view it falls flat.
