Tiger McDrew [Rock Hudson] is a student counselor at a high school and knows his stuff when it comes to women - including quite a few sexy students, where he makes good use of his 'red light' to keep out prying eyes. Ponce [John David Carson] is a student who doesn't know how to seduce a woman and asks Tiger for advice, something that proves especially necessary when the very sexy new teacher Miss Smith [Angie Dickinson] starts flirting with Ponce. Moreover, the school is in turmoil when Ponce finds the body of a murdered cheerleader in the bathroom. Could the football match on Friday still go ahead?
Bizarre mix of very wrong sex comedy and murder mystery is quite dated. None other than Gene Roddenberry wrote the screenplay based on the book by Francis Pollini, but the brain behind Star Trek is unable to create a coherent whole. There is much to enjoy for lovers of feminine beauty (the introduction between Miss Smith and Tiger is a highlight) and the film works best as a black comedy, but you would miss the sharp one-liners ("We never play football on the day of a murder" - "I'm so proud of our community! Everybody insisted we not cancel our game.") that are there.

A typical image of the times, but in a positive sense, clearly a film about the hippie period and a Rock Hudson who I mainly knew from the Doris Day films and who I had not immediately noticed with a moustache, in any case he plays a very strong role and is without doubt(apart from all the beautiful actresses in this film) for me personally the highlight of the film.

Pretty Maids All in a Row has a nice pace and a very nice atmosphere, the murders are almost a side issue but at the same time a nice addition to support the plot.

Forgotten gem.

3.5*

I don't remember how this film came my way, but it was a strange and funny mess. A kind of combination of Porky's or Sylvia Kristel films and mediocre police thriller elements. In terms of 'male gaze' and inappropriate behavior, this scores extremely high points, haha.

And even though the main cast with middle-aged Hudson, Dickinson and Savalas does a really good job, unfortunately they cannot prevent the direction from being very mediocre and the story really going nowhere.
