It's late 1999 and an out-of-orbit satellite is hurtling toward Earth. The end of the world seems near. Chaos and panic everywhere. Only Claire (Solveig Dommartin), who is obsessed with Trevor McPhee (William Hurt), doesn't care. She follows him using advanced electronics from Berlin to Moscow, from Japan to San Francisco and to Australia. Trevor owns a camera that allows blind people to see. He himself is also gradually becoming blind. Dream images can be displayed with this camera. In Australia, they both become addicted to these video images.
