I picked this up on TV and had a good time with it. Not super funny, but I had to laugh a few times, but there is also room for some drama.

The cast also did a great job and it looked good.

I thought it was an entertaining movie worth watching.

And because of the beautiful acting and the sharp, funny dialogues and sayings, this "Calendar Girls" grows into a very much appreciated drama-comedy. Towards the end it does become a bit less quirky, but that certainly doesn't make you forget the smashing first hour.

Helen Mirren, who has now come into the picture even more, shows what versatile actress she is.

There's no shortage of clichés and it's all just a bit too good and too bland. The fact that it still remains palatable - on the edge - is actually entirely thanks to Helen Mirren, who once again plays a beautiful role. Furthermore, there is a bit too little of the stereotypical English quality in the film, and a bit too much of the American one. Nice too, but it doesn't fit here.
