For artist Robert Rauschenberg, there was no separation between art and everyday life. With this conviction, he radically broke with existing rules and blurred the boundaries between museum art and popular culture. He worked effortlessly across diverse disciplines, from painting and sculpture to photography and performance. This documentary, made to mark what would have been his 100th birthday, uses experts and exceptional archival material to explore the influence and relevance of Rauschenberg's work.

Excellent short documentary about an extremely important artist – perhaps comparable in significance to that of his friend John Cage in music – who built on the Dadaist Marcel Duchamp, with whom he pioneered almost all art movements from the 1950s onwards, by radically breaking with the idea of art as a sublime museum piece in favour of abolishing the distinction between art and everyday objects (pop art), between the artwork and the public (interaction), and between the various art and media forms so that art and life merge.
