The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping plot

The story takes place 24 years before Katniss's story, beginning on the morning of the 50th Hunger Games, in which a young Haymitch Abernathy is to compete. Although 16-year-old Haymitch manages to escape selection on the day of the awards ceremony, he is manipulated after he tries to protect his beloved Lenore Dove from the Peacekeepers. Chaos erupts after the execution of another boy from District 12.
