A strange black meteor crashes into the desert near the town of San Angelo. Not long after, strange black pieces of rock shoot out of the ground.

We haven't seen many stone monoliths that can destroy an entire town (and maybe even the entire world). These stone monsters from outer space that grow and multiply under the influence of water are still worth a look! It may be a B-movie, but more than 60 years later it's still a pretty cool movie! Yes! Nice!

Many of these sci-fi movies were made in the 50s and many of them are extremely entertaining, including this Monolith Monsters which perhaps has the most original alien enemy.
The story meanders nicely and the characters are recognizable and standard but that shouldn't spoil the fun. You know exactly what you get and the playing time is also kept nice and short. The acting level is not exactly high but it doesn't really bother.

The idea is original and the somewhat sparse effects are very well done, don't expect high-level tension or too much sensation and then this SF film is quite enjoyable.
