An innovative portrait of Marianne Faithfull, with Tilda Swinton leading a project by the 'Ministry of Not Forgetting', who commissions George McKay to unravel the many misconceptions about Marianne Faithfull and her career and tell the full story. Although Faithfull became nationally known through her association with The Rolling Stones (as “Mick’s sweetheart”), she built an impressive oeuvre on her own merits that extends beyond music. The title refers to the album of the same name with which Faithfull made an impressive comeback as a musician in 1979. Faithfull passed away during the recording, and her final musical collaboration (with Nick Cave and Warren Ellis) is a fitting, worthy coda for this cultural icon.

Together with Marianne Faithfull, we look back on her turbulent life as a woman and an artist.
I found the setup of the documentary very messy.
It jumps from one topic to another. Original film footage of performances and interviews is interspersed with other musicians singing her songs in a studio.
What did stick with me is that she was a completely unique person.
