Amoeba plot
Sixteen-year-old Choo Xin Yu seems like an outsider when she attends a highly competitive, elite all-girls school in Singapore. But she quickly befriends three others who share her rebellious nature. As the girls struggle to fit in, they pledge loyalty to each other and vow to form a gang as a form of resistance. When their rebellious acts—recorded on a camcorder—are discovered by their teacher, their lives are turned upside down.

Upon her introduction to a Confucian high school in Singapore, Choo Xin Yu [Ranice Tay] immediately reveals her rebellious side. As a result, she befriends Sofia [Lim Shi-An], Gina [Genevieve Tan], and Vanessa [Nicole Lee]. Inspired by a music video by a local gang, the girls form their own gang. Mostly for fun, but the school administration sees things differently. A brilliant portrait of teenage girls who find common ground in their aversion to the rules imposed on them by adults. The girls' behavior appears spontaneous and is full of unimaginable golden moments. The chemistry between the four lead actresses is perfect and their rebellious behavior promising, but Tan abandons the storylines she sets out at the beginning (including one about a possible ghost apparition) towards the end. Consequently, it lacks structure, and the ending is abrupt and unsatisfying. A capitulation for anyone who can explain the title.
